Majority of Sabah PKR leaders back Anwar

Sabah PKR chief Datuk Christina Liew, who is also state Deputy Chief Minister, said 17 out of 26 party branch heads had signed the pledge.

KOTA KINABALU: A majority of Sabah PKR leaders have pledged loyalty and support for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to continue leading the party and to be the next prime minister.

Sabah PKR chief Datuk Christina Liew, who is also state Deputy Chief Minister, said 17 out of 26 party branch heads had signed the pledge.

She announced this during the party’s state leadership council meeting held at the party headquarters on Saturday.

Besides Liew, who is Kota Kinabalu branch head, those who signed were state PKR deputy chief and Kota Belud branch head Mustapha Sakmud, as well as state vice chairmen Kenny Chua (Penampang) and Ag Husaini Ag Sahari (Putatan).

Other branches were Keningau, Pensiangan, Semporna, Kimanis, Labuan, Kota Marudu, Tuaran, Sandakan, Beaufort, Sipitang, Kinabatangan, Batu Sapi and Papar.

During the meeting, Liew also announced an allocation of RM10,000 to Pusat Pendidikan Teologi Bavangazo, Tinangol in the Matunggong constituency to repair the roof of the building, which was damaged in a storm on July 30.

Kota Marudu PKR branch head Sazalye Donol Abdullah would be presenting the contribution to the school.

She also announced a sum of RM1,000 for each branch to celebrate Hari Raya Haji, which falls on Aug 11.

In the meeting, Liew said that three cows, donated by Libaran branch deputy head Surian Sah Hanafiah, would be given away to Kinabatangan and Batu Sapi branches for the celebration.
